Erinaceous Group plc (“Erinaceous”) the one-stop shop property services group operating in the public and private sectors, announces that its wholly owned subsidiary Haywards Property Services (“Haywards”) has been awarded two major contracts with a total income value of £6.5 million.
Firstly, Brighton & Hove District Council has appointed Haywards as the sole provider for its annual planned maintenance programme to some 12,500 properties, the procurement of term contracts and mechanical engineering. The five year contract starts in April 2004 and the fee for the five year period is in excess of £5 million.
Secondly, Hounslow Homes, an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO), has appointed Haywards to provide comprehensive professional services and technical support to assist the fulfillment of its management, maintenance and improvement of its 16,500 council homes.
The contract starts in April 2004 and is for a five year term. The council’s in-house staff currently providing the service will transfer under TUPE to Haywards. The total fee is worth £1.5 million.
Haywards has also been recently appointed by the South Midlands and Greater London Housing Society and the Notting Hill Housing Association to undertake specific assignments.
Neil Bellis, Erinaceous Group Chief Executive, said: “These are significant contract wins which demonstrate the level of professionalism achieved by the Haywards’ team and its relationship with local authorities and ALMOs.
“Overall activity in all our markets remains strong and each of our subsidiaries is continuing to grow its business. The structure and mix of our businesses protects us from any vagaries within the residential property market of which we have seen little evidence. In particular our public sector business, such as with Westminster Council, is secured on term inflation-linked contracts and the operations continue to enjoy enhanced activity levels.
“The Group continues to trade very satisfactorily and the Directors view the outcome for the current year with confidence.”
