Residents in Queens Park, Westminster, will be celebrating their community at a month long photographic exhibition, Queens Park Life. From 4 August the public is invited to attend Queens Park Life at The Beethoven Centre, Third Avenue, Queens Park, London.

The exhibition marks the culmination of a one year photographic project which has engaged local residents in photography and digital imaging workshops as well as capturing the city guardians’, engaging the local photographic archives and commissioning work by local photographers.

The Community Learning Team at Haywards Property Services (Haywards), part of the Erinaceous Group, the one stop shop property services group operating in the public and the private sectors, in partnership with the Queens Park Neighbourhood Forum, and The Beethoven Centre have been promoting the celebration of Queens Park through photography and film.

Angela McConville, Head of Community Learning Service at Haywards, said: “It has been inspiring to see the artistic and emotional response local residents have made by examining traditions and landscapes which are at the heart of life here in Queens Park. The talent demonstrated by our artists’ team has been remarkable. They have worked with both young people and adults to facilitate creative responses to familiar landscapes, with fantastic results.”

This is the first exhibition for the Queens Park partnership, but the initiative has already enthralled the community and there are plans to grow the event into a multi-location exhibition next year.
